Alfred Clinical Pharmacy Fellowship 2018 Application Pack

The Clinical Pharmacy Fellowship is an innovative program which aims to develop consolidation level practitioners in a chosen clinical specialty. Clinical Fellows are supported with a mentor, regular feedback and cohort of ambitious fellows.  Appointment is subject to acceptance in the Master of Clinical Pharmacy (research stream) at Monash University. On successful completion of the Fellowship, you will receive a part-scholarship of $10,000.

Fellows are enthusiastic and motivated pharmacists with approximately 3-5 years clinical pharmacy experience, who  work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best medication management outcomes for individual patients. Working closely with their mentor in their specialty, they undertake a Masters of Clinical Pharmacy, a research project and gain specialist knowledge. They also contribute to improving medication management on a larger scale through contributing to practice based research projects and service and practice improvement work. As Alfred Health is an academic health centre, Fellows also  supervise and mentor local and international students as well as intern pharmacists.

The Fellowship is a two-year program, with Year 1 of the Fellowship involving a six month rotation in the chosen specialty and six months in a general specialty, to further develop clinical skills. Year 2 of the Fellowship is spent entirely in the chosen specialty.

Each year up to four Fellowships are offered, with the Program usually commencing in March. Fellows are recruited towards the end of the calendar year. Candidates are appointed as Grade 2 Clinical Pharmacists for the duration of their Fellowship

Our Clinical Pharmacy Fellowships are offered in multiple specialties. We currently have Clinical Fellows in Infectious Diseases, Perioperative Medicine, Psychiatry, Haematology, Respiratory Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Cardiology. See the table below for the next intake into your specialty area of interest:
